Red wine among onion and garlic can keep your heart young forever

images.jpgA recent study by a combined team of doctors from the US and India has determined that red wine among onion, garlic and grapes can keep you from visiting a cardiologist all your life, healthy or ailing your heart could actually benefit from a regular intake of red wine. The team from the US was attending a conference in India and while it was there they also installed pacemakers in five patients, free of cost.

A pacemaker cost anywhere between $1000 and $2500 in India, it is the best known cure to humans so far for an erratic pulse rate or a sow pulse rate a congestive heart failure which can be a near death scenario in some cases and as of now, nearly 15 million patients need pacemakers every year, year after year. However, a lot of people can save the money on these pacemakers if the people with a healthy or even an ailing heart turn to a regular intake of onion garlic and grapes. While red wine is the best way to keep a heart young, according to experts its import is limited and it is expensive.

“Red wine is made of grapes which contain resvertrol that prevents cells from dying,” said Nilanjana Maulik, associate professor, Cardio-Vascular Research Centre, Connecticut. Dr Maulik has researched the effects of alcohol on the heart.
