Sweet and dry - difference

sweet_dry_wine.jpgRed and white wines are a popular mode of distinction that is widely used, after that comes whether the wine is dry and sweet, oxymoronic as it sounds, a liquid being dry, dryness of a wine is actually the opposite of the sweetness, i.e. the bitterness of the wine is the dryness of the wine. Also the weight of a wine does not mean that actual weight of the wine, but it means the alcoholic content of the wine.

Ordering at a restaurant

The wine is an accompaniment to the food, it enhances the flavors of the food. For a beginner it is recommended to order food and after that contemplate the wine to be had with it. The first step is to decide whether the wine has to be red or white, red wine usually goes with red meat or whole heavy foods like beef or roasts, while white wine is lighter and goes with foodstuffs like chicken and fish. The second way to determine the kind of wine to be had with the food ordered is to match the color of the wine with that of the food. The preference would be according to the food choices. For the more timid, the dirtiest way to appear knowledgeable about wines is to know one or two of the kinds which go with each food type and when you order, just say “what along those lines do u have?” that puts you in control and the waiter will automatically suggest you the best option with your food.

Another thing to keep in mind while ordering wine is that the taste of the wine does not clash with that of the food, the more warm the wine, the more aroma it will leave, but if it gets too warm, the whole bouquet, aroma and taste will get muddled up into one huge alcoholic mess, so beware about the temperature and the taste will automatically be enhanced.
